You Mean A Lot to Me Monday

Today's the day that I have been counting down to for a while!

And you know what?

Jay and my sister were hoping for a boy, but I know they will love this girl just as much.

She will definitely be spoiled.

On my mom's side of the family the first born has been a girl for the last 6 generations. I think it's a sign. We have a picture frame with the babies first picture. And this little baby can now be added.

Kimber Barrett

I can't wait for her to get here, because that girl means a lot to me now, and will from this day forward. :)

These are the best days of our life!

My weekend was the best.

Friday night after Jerry got off work, we went to P.F Changs for our late Valentine's day. It was so nice to spend time with my Jerold! We got to P.F Changs around 6:45, and they told us the wait would be about an hour and ten minutes. Two hours later, we finally got a table and were able to eat. We were so hungry by that point. We had plans to go to 'Dear John' at 9:35, but our dinner took too long. We decided to head to Evanston after dinner. But first we drove up by the beautiful capital building. I loved it! We went for a little drive up in North Salt Lake, got some gas and headed home.
On Saturday Jerry and I went snowboarding, well kinda. We got to Pinecreek around 8:30, and I only went on one run before I decided I was too sick to go on anymore. I sat in the Ski Patrol hut (Jerry is a ski patroller) the rest of the day, while Jerry snowboarded. Luckily Matt was there to keep Jerry company. Once we got back to Evanston, we ate dinner with Penny and my dad. Then Jerry and my dad played some pool. We finished off the night by visiting Miss. Katie and going to bed. :)

Today, I did homework for most of the day, while Jerry and my dad hung insulation in our backroom. They will be putting up sheet rock later this week. Then Jerry and I went to have dinner at his dad's house for his step brother's birthday. We played some poker then headed home. I made my dad some dinner and worked on some more homework (It's a never ending cycle).

But do you know what the highlight of my weekend was? I'll give you three guesses?

That's right, I finally got a cupcake. I made them today! And they were delicious if I do say so myself. :) I even have enough to take some with me to Ogden this week. :) Yum!

I hope your weekend was filled with moments you will remember for a lifetime. :)

Be happy for this moment, for this moment is your life!

Just thought I'd share some humor.

Couldn't help but share this with all of you. :)

I don't have much respect for Sarah Palin.
However, I respect your opinion, if this insults you, I am sorry.

Cupcakes!

I have seriously been in the mood for cupcakes lately.

The other day I wanted a chocolate one with pink frosting.

Today I want a white one with white frosting and sprinkles.

Yesterday, Jerry and I looked at Smith's for a single cupcake.

I couldn't find out that I wanted, so we left without any.

And today, I still want a cup cake.

Call it a craving.

Call me crazy.

I just want a cupcake.

Yes, I think I will make some this weekend

Actually, I have word that some delicious red velvet ones are on their way from Laramie as we speak.

Just Sayin' :)

Ever have one of those days?

Today has been...well uh...less than perfect.

I woke up rather sick. Stuffed up, with a sore throat.

But the day must go on. I showered, ate some breakfast, spilled my juice all over my desk. I tripped over the cord of my straightener. And ran out the door late to go to my study group.

From 12 till 1:15 I studied for Earthquakes and Volcanoes.

From 1:30-2:45 I went to my technology class, where this lady said to me, "You sound horrible do you feel as bad as you sound?" And another lady piped in and said, "It's people like you that come to class and get the rest of us sick!" Like I didn't feel crappy enough already? I simply said "Sorry" and went on with my day.

From 2:45-3:30 I ate lunch on campus, and studied for my social studies test.

From 3:30-4:15 I took my social studies test, which wasn't bad, but could have been better.

From 4:30-7:10 I went to my Social Studies class, where I found out I didn't do the assigned reading.

Well, it wasn't the best day, but who's complaining. What's the point?

Because we all obviously have a computer, eyes to read with and we are all literate, otherwise, telling you about my, not-so-good day would be nearly impossible. So in all reality, we are quite lucky, so let's leave the complaining out.

Forget all that I have said, my day went relatively well. :)

Thank you God for this day, and everyday!

I am so blessed.

You Mean A Lot to Me Monday.

It all began in 3rd grade. I hated her. I was rude, and she tried to convince Dawn Anne that our club wasn't real. Not until middle school did I become her friend. And not until middle school did I realize she was my best friend, my very best friend. She's my Miss Katie!

We have been through so so much together. In middle school, we broke a chair playing musical chairs together. We were on the swim team together. I went to my first 'real' party with her. We use to cruise Evanston for hours every weekend. We would roll down the windows, take off the roof of my jeep and turn up the heater. I can tell her anything, anytime I have a new sickness I text her to ask what I should do. She is the smartest person I know, and I still continue to believe she is!

I had my very first job with her. We worked at Dominos together and had so many fun times. Let me tell you a little story,

One slow night at Dominos, Katie and I were working, and Bobbi was our manager. We always wondered what it would be like to put the dough on our face. So that night, with permission we did it! We got some dough out, made it the size of our faces, and pressed it up against our face. We would breath and the dough would create air bubbles, and it was so fun! Until this lady walked in, and man was she angry. I hid behind the pop case, while Katie got her, her pizza. She said to Katie, "Did you do that to my pizza too?" Of course, Katie being so sweet, explained everything to the lady, and we decided it would be a good idea not to put dough on our face anymore.

Katie is my best friend. And I know that God has put Katie and I in each other's lives specifically. You see, Katie's dad died when she was in 4th grade. She was strong, and even though she has missed him so much, she has made it! And the day that my mom died, Katie was the first person I told. I had to no idea how to even talk about it. I had no idea how to feel. She made the 5 hour drive to me from Laramie as fast as she could. And I don't think she left my side the entire time. I remember sitting at the counter at my house and Katie looking up a verse on the computer that her dad liked. It was "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference." And it all really made sense to me. Neither Katie or I could change the fact that my mom, and her dad were no longer with us, but we had each other, and God has sent her to me, to help me.

My mom loved Katie, just as much as I do. She always wanted to know where Katie was, and if we did something wrong, she would ground both of us. My mom, dad, Katie and I went to Mexico for our senior trip, and it was so fun. Since we were old enough to drink in Mexico, we ordered drinks of course, we would both order a drink, I would tell her I didn't like mine and she would drink both. :) We went fishing with my parents because they wanted to. It was the worst! I got so sick and was puking off the side of the boat, Katie was laying down watching the sky turn to water and quickly back to sky because the boat was rocking so much. Oh, our experiences!

Katie is the only person in the entire world that will honestly tell me if clothes look good on me or not. She is the only person that knows the special Kool-Ade recipe. She is the only person that understands how serious I am about joining the circus. haha. She is the only best friend that as perfect as she is!

The list could go on and on. I love that girl! She is so sincere and genuine. She is like my sister, and I don't know where I would be without her.

Dear Miss Katie,

I love you! Thanks so much for standing by me through everything. Thank you for helping me through all that life has to offer. You will never know how much I miss you, and how sad I am that we aren't able to stay the night at my house e.v.e.r.y night of the week. I miss sharing your clothes, because quite honestly, my wardrobe is dwindling. I know you will go far in life, and I know that you will always be a part of my life. If you were here now I would do our secret handshake, so do it in the air for good measure. :) I love you lady!

Love, Your Colie
